With over 20 year experience in the counselling profession I work with young adults, adults, individuals, couples and groups. I work on short and long term contracts.

I work in private practice and my theoretical orientation is a relational/integrative model both in counselling and supervision. I incorporate CBT, TA, Existentialism, psychodynamic, person centred and NLP coaching into my practice.

Private Practice 2004 – Present

continue to work in private practice

I have worked in private practice as an integrative psychotherapist, NLP coach and supervisor for many years around Leeds, Harrogate and Wetherby. I now also have a busy online practice.

Advisor and Co-Director Counselling Services 2006 - 2020

Based in Leeds and York for 15 years working largely with students from colleges & universities around Yorkshire, Leeds, York & Huddersfield.

Lecturer and Facilitator,

University of Leeds - 2011 - 2014, Leeds Beckett - 2016 - 2018

I worked on both the BSc & MA courses within Leeds Universities such as Leeds Beckett and The University of Leeds, which was such a privilege after studying at both.

Coaching Training 2006 - 2010

I became a Master NLP Practitioner after completing the Certificate & Diploma in NLP during a further 4 years of study.

Supervisor of Psychotherapy 2011 - Present

After further study, 1 year, at The university of Leeds in 2011, I qualified with a PGC in supervision for psychotherapy and counselling.

Working as a Freelance Counsellor within Counselling Services 2004 - 2009

Accreditation Qualification 2009 - Present

Being a member of BACP since 2002, In 2009 I completed the BACP accredited assessment program, 6 months. Since 2017 registration came in, I am a registered accredited member of both BACP and Registered with ACC

Counselling in Secondary Education 2003 - 2006

Secondary education for 4 years setting up counselling services for 11-16 yr olds and a service for teaching/pastoral staff. Working with services such as CAMHS, young carers and behaviour support.

Cert, Dip & BSc in Counselling & Psychotherapy 2001 - 2006

After gaining my HE certificate, 1 year, at Parklane/Leeds Met, I became a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist with a Diploma, 2 years, from Leeds Beckett University (known then as Leeds Metropolitan) and finally a further 1 year gaining a BSc.

Around 1999 - 2002

Trained with the Samaritans around 3 months and also gained a mentoring and counselling skills qualification, 6 months, within the prison service for offenders and ex-offenders. I worked for a few years on a rehabilitation programme in high category prisons through pastoral services.

From 1999

I completed many training courses in counselling all around 3 to 5 months, such as the introduction to counselling, developing & further developing in counselling at Park Lane college.
